Some of them ain’t strong enough, and you’ll just end up with a wet carpet that still smells like pee. And read them instructions! I know, I know, nobody likes readin’ instructions, but you don’t want to ruin your carpet by usin’ the thing wrong.
And here’s a little somethin’ I learned from my neighbor, old Mrs. Higgins. She says baking soda is a good thing to have around. Sprinkle it on the spot after you cleaned it up, let it sit for a while, then vacuum it up. It helps soak up any leftover smells. And vinegar, too! Mix some vinegar with water and spray it on the spot. It’ll smell like vinegar for a bit, but that’s better than pee, I reckon. Just don’t use vinegar and those enzyme cleaners together. They don’t play nice.
Of course, if you ain’t got the time or the energy for all that cleanin’, you can always call in the professionals. There are folks who specialize in cleanin’ carpets, and they got all the fancy equipment and know-how. They’ll charge you a pretty penny, but if it gets rid of that smell, it might be worth it. Especially if you got a whole house full of cat pee stains. Lord have mercy!
