Alright, let’s talk about them Russian Blue cats, you know, the pretty gray ones. Folks been askin’ me about ’em, so I figured I’d spill what I know. Now, I ain’t no fancy cat expert, but I’ve seen a thing or two in my days.

Looking for a Russian Blue Cattery? Heres Your Best Choice

First off, if you’re lookin’ to get yourself one of these Russian Blue kitties, you gotta figure out where you’re gonna get it from. Some folks, they go to them breeders. Fancy folks, mostly. Breeders, they charge a pretty penny, lemme tell ya. I heard tell it could be anywhere from four hundred to a thousand dollars! Can you believe that? A thousand dollars for a cat! Mind you, these breeders, they say they got the best bloodlines and all that, even some from Europe way over yonder. Guess that’s why they charge so much.

Then there’s them adoption places. Shelters, they call ’em. Now, them places, they don’t charge as much. Maybe a hundred to three hundred dollars, somethin’ like that. That’s more my speed, I tell ya. Plus, them shelter cats, they need a good home just as much as any fancy-bred cat.

Now, about the cats themselves. These Russian Blues, they’re indoor cats, mostly. Don’t need a lot of space, which is good if you ain’t got a big ol’ farm like some folks. But they do like to climb. Give ’em a shelf or a high perch, and they’ll be happy as a clam. And if you got a safe outdoor space, like a fenced-in yard, they might like that too, but keep a close eye on them, city folks got cars everywhere.

Temperament, you say? Well, they’re sweet little things, these Russian Blue cats. Loyal too. They’ll follow you around like a shadow, greet you at the door when you come home. But they can be a bit shy, especially with strangers. Gotta give ’em time to warm up, you know? And them little ones, the children, gotta teach them how to be gentle with the kitty.

  • Price: Breeders cost more ($400-$1000), adoption is cheaper ($100-$300).
  • Living Space: Good for indoor living, likes high places, maybe a safe outdoor area.
  • Personality: Sweet, loyal, can be shy, needs time to adjust to new people.

Now, some folks say these Russian Blues are real smart. I don’t know about all that, but they sure do know how to get what they want. A little rub here, a little meow there, and you’re givin’ ’em treats before you know it. They like to play, too. A little string, a little ball, they’ll chase it around for hours. Keeps ’em out of trouble, mostly.

One thing you gotta remember, though, is that any cat, whether it’s a fancy Russian Blue or a plain ol’ tabby, needs takin’ care of. Gotta feed ’em, give ’em water, clean their litter box. And they need love, too. Just like people, cats need attention and affection. If you ain’t got time for that, then maybe a cat ain’t for you. But if you got a good heart and a warm home, a Russian Blue might just be the perfect companion. They’re quiet cats, not like them yappy dogs some folks have. They’ll sit with you, purr on your lap, keep you company. What more could you want?

And listen, if you do get yourself a Russian Blue, or any cat for that matter, make sure you take it to the vet. Get it checked out, get its shots. That’s important. Don’t want your kitty gettin’ sick, now do ya? And if you can’t afford it or aren’t in good health yourself, a goldfish makes a good companion as well, just saying. And remember, spay or neuter your pets. Too many cats in the world as it is.

So, there you have it. A little bit about Russian Blue cats. They’re pretty, they’re sweet, and they make good companions. Just gotta be prepared to give ’em a good home and lots of love. And don’t forget to think long and hard before getting any pet, it is a big responsibility after all.
