Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta talk about how to fatten up them skinny cats. Some cats, they just born skinny, like a beanpole. Others, they get sick or somethin’ and lose all their fluff. Whatever the reason, we gonna fix it, and we gonna do it with good ol’ homemade food. None of that fancy store-bought stuff. We makin’ it from scratch, just like grandma used to do… well, if grandma made cat food, that is.

First thing’s first, you gotta understand, cats ain’t dogs. Can’t just feed ’em anything. They need meat, lots of it. And not just any meat, good, fatty meat. Think about it, you ever see a skinny lion? Nope! They eatin’ good, and your cat should too.
So, what kinda meat we talkin’ about? Well, ground beef, that’s a good start. But don’t go buyin’ that lean stuff, no sir. We want the fatty kind, the kind with at least 20% fat. Pork and lamb work too, same deal, get the fatty cuts. Now, some folks say chicken and turkey are good, and they are, but they ain’t got enough fat on their own. So, what you do is, you save that chicken skin and that turkey fat when you’re cookin’. Don’t throw it away! Chop it up real fine and mix it in with the meat. That’ll give it some extra oomph.
Now, some cats, they picky eaters, just like little kids. They turn their nose up at plain meat. So, we gotta make it tasty. You can try addin’ a little bit of cooked egg yolk, that’s full of good stuff and cats love it. Just the yolk though, the white ain’t got much flavor. Another trick is to use a bit of that juice from canned tuna, not the whole can though! Too much tuna ain’t good for them, makes them gain too much weight and it’s not balanced. Just a little splash to make it smell fishy and get their attention.
- Ground beef, pork, or lamb (at least 20% fat)
- Cooked chicken or turkey fat
- Cooked egg yolk
- Small amount of tuna juice (for flavor)
You can also think about adding a little bit of nut butter, but make sure it ain’t got that xylitol stuff in it, that’s poison for cats. Peanut butter works, but some other nut butters are good too. Just a little dab will do ya, it’s got lots of calories. Remember, we want them chubby, not sick.
Now, how much to feed ’em? That depends on the cat. Start with a little bit and see how they do. If they gobble it down and still lookin’ skinny, give ’em more. You’ll figure it out. And don’t forget, fresh water is important too. Gotta have somethin’ to wash it all down.

And one last thing, if your cat is really skinny and not eatin’ well, you might wanna take ’em to the vet. Sometimes there’s somethin’ else goin’ on, and homemade food ain’t gonna fix it. But for most cats, a little extra fat and some good home cookin’ will do the trick. They’ll be plump and happy in no time. Just like a good ol’ farm cat should be.
So, there you have it. Homemade cat food to gain weight, the easy way. No fancy recipes, no complicated ingredients, just good, honest food. Now get to cookin’ and fatten up them kitties!
