Well, howdy there, y’all! Let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this place called Spike’s Feed Seed & Pet Supply. It’s a store, ya see, and they got all sorts of stuff.
Feed for your animals, that’s what they mostly got. Horses, cows, chickens, dogs, cats… you name it, they probably got somethin’ for it to eat. I heard tell they even got some fancy stuff for them high-falutin’ horse athletes. You know, the ones that jump around and run real fast. Some fella, he helps folks figure out what to feed them horses, makes sure they get all strong and healthy.

- Pellets
They got all that and more. Bags and bags of it, stacked up high. Makes my back hurt just lookin’ at it. And if you got a dog or a cat, well, they got plenty for them too. Big bags, little bags, cans, treats… My old Bessie, she loves them little crunchy treats. Always waggin’ her tail when I bring ’em home.
But it ain’t just feed, no sirree. They got seeds too. Garden seeds, I mean. Vegetables, flowers, all sorts of things you can plant in your garden. Come springtime, this place is buzzin’ with folks gettin’ ready to plant. Tomatoes, peppers, beans, corn… you can grow just about anything if you put your mind to it.
And you know what else? You can even order stuff online! Can you believe it? Sit right there in your chair and order feed or seeds or whatever you need. Then, you just drive on over to this place they call the Historic Mill in Delano and they bring it right out to your car. They call it “curbside pickup.” Sounds mighty fancy to me, but I guess it’s convenient for some folks.
Now, I ain’t too good with these here computers and internet things, but my grandson, he showed me how to look at their website. It’s got all sorts of information on it. What they sell, where they’re located, all that jazz. He told me somethin’ about “cookies” though. Said the website don’t work right if you don’t have them “cookies” turned on. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that. Sounds like somethin’ you eat, but I guess it’s somethin’ different with these computers.
Spike’s, they been around a good long while, I reckon. They’re part of some bigger outfit called the “Gertens Family of Businesses.” Sounds important, don’t it? Well, all I know is they got good stuff and the folks that work there are always friendly. They’ll help you find what you need and answer your questions, even if you’re just an old lady like me.
If you got animals or a garden, or both, then you oughta check out Spike’s Feed Seed & Pet Supply. It’s a good place to get what you need. And even if you don’t need nothin’, it’s still kinda fun to walk around and look at all the stuff. Just be careful not to trip over them big bags of feed, ya hear?
They even got some toys and stuff for your pets, I almost forgot! Little squeaky toys for the dogs, dangly things for the cats… My Bessie, she loves them squeaky toys. Tears ’em up in a day or two, but she has fun doin’ it. So, there you have it. That’s about all I know about Spike’s Feed Seed & Pet Supply. It’s a good store, plain and simple.
One more thing! They even have stuff for them birds in your backyard! Like them bird feeders and all that bird feed. You know, them little sunflower seeds and such. I like watching them birds flutter around, makes me feel all peaceful like.
